The Saitama Pack site gave us the opportunity to put our E-commerce skills to full use as it involved localizing Ubercart for the Japanese making it one of the first of its kind. In fact, Alethia Inc has been working extensively on improving the delivery of not only E-commerce in Japan, but Drupal itself. The result was something that has never been seen before, a new furikumi and daibiki payment system tailored exactly to fit Saitama Pack's needs.
This is a redesign of an older E-commerce site which we gave a new face as well as a whole new support system build on the foundations of Drupal and Ubercart. Compared to this version, the old site was built using static HTML design and was difficult to update. Currently the Saitama Pack staff only have to log into their site and can update any product information with a few clicks of a button: no coding required. They can also easily track and precess orders within a fully Japanese integrated user interface.
The catalog for Saitama Pack is dynamically populated and fully organizes all of their products by type automatically. This means that when a new product is added, all the staff have to do is upload an image, and set information such as product description, price, and weight (for shipping) and the product is added to its designated category with all of the pertinent information.
Each product also has a product page with a full description, larger picture, and product options such as quantity and color, size, etc. From this page users can easily add the item to their cart, which is displayed clearly on the top right or the page and updates in real time.
To track orders, we have a built in administration section which will display all orders, or narrow the number of items listed based on desired search criteria (such as "orders placed but not yet processed"). This tool is extremely powerful and allows for more efficient handling of orders, making for faster processing times and in turn happier customers. Again, this interface is fully integrated in Japanese.
