Skin Evolution New
Skin Evolution has been affiliated with Alethia Inc even before it was Alethia Inc, for over a 4 years now and we felt it was time to give their website a face-lift. Although the appearance of the site is completely different, the back end and function of the site also received a major overhaul. This site acts as an example of how a site can receive a utility increase as well as a new look to give it a modern look.
On of the biggest upgrades to this site was a transfer from a Zen-Cart-based back end structure to Drupal and UberCart. This upgrade included our custom Japanese UberCart package as well as one of the first UberCart installations working with paypal localized to Japanese and Japanese currency. The site also includes all of the E-Commerce fundamentals such as SSL secured checkout and anonymous and stored customer information to make for a more convenient experience for repeat customers.

Each product has its own page with full description as well as options for product attributes. In this case a user can select the full protection film, front, or back protection. These attributes trigger price adjustments powered by ajax that dynamically adjust the price on the page before the customer ads an item to his or her cart. Attributes can be easily specified when creating a product and can range anywhere from t-shirt sizes, colors, or styles.
One of the great features built into UberCart is the store administration reports which include a sales report of all E-Commerce activity on the site. This report is a useful tool for any online store displaying everything from sales to customer and order tracking. The report also gives a projected monthly income based on current sales levels.
This new Skin Evolution site is also one of the first ever UberCart sites to offer PayPal localized for Japanese and also use Japanese currency as a payment option.
We have also included a section for Yahoo Auctions Japan customers to make for a smoother checkout from Skin Evolution's customers using auctions.yahoo.co.jp/ to purchase film. After a user on Yahoo Auctions purchases a product, they are directed to this page rather than having their order processed through the standard auction process. This saves time and the countless emails that go back and forth. Instead, the customer receives only one email, and all order information stays in a localized area on the Skin Evolution site.
